Путь Katseye был совсем не типичным. Девичью группу из шести участниц впервые собрали в 2023 году через The Debut: Dream Academy от HYBE и Geffen Records — конкурс в формате survival, который привлек более 100 000 претенденток со всего мира. После 12 недель испытаний шесть молодых женщин — Sophia, Daniela, Megan, Lara, Manon и Yoonchae — получили места в составе.

После официального дебюта в 2024 году с SIS (Soft Is Strong) и вирусным синглом “Touch” группа стала одним из самых заметных новичков поп-сцены. Но 20 февраля 2026 года менеджмент группы, HYBE и Geffen, сообщил, что участница Manon уходит в temporary hiatus из коллектива.

7 августа Sophia тоже объявила о паузе в деятельности группы, а HYBE и Geffen сообщили, что перерыв поможет ей сосредоточиться на своем mental health and wellness. Sophia, Daniela и Megan

23-летняя Sophia Laforteza, которую считают лидером группы, привносит в коллектив уверенность. Она родилась и выросла в Маниле, на Филиппинах, поет с трех лет и называет музыку своей “first love”.

“We can’t fake this,” she told Rolling Stone in June 2025. “We all have that shared goal of Katseye’s success and we really nurtured our friendship a lot. We got really lucky.”

В августе 2026 года HYBE и Geffen объявили, что Sophia уходит на паузу, назвав причиной ее перерыва в активности “mental health and wellness”.

“Sophia has been receiving the utmost support, and following thorough consultations with medical professionals, it has been advised that she take dedicated time for extended rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery,” the statement read.

30 августа HYBE x Geffen сообщили, что Sophia останется в паузе и во время европейской части тура Katseye Wildworld.

“The company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed,” HYBE x Geffen said in a statement. “Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17.”

“Growing up in a Spanish-Latin household, my family has always tried to kind of make sure that I’m infused with the culture as much as possible growing up, and to embrace my culture as much as I can—whether it’s through music, dance, or fashion,” Daniela shared in her Billboard Philippines cover profile. “My mom was the one who taught me how to dance when I was 3, so I would watch her dancing as well when I grew up.”

“I like to be very free, but at the same time I love showing a little skin and being hot and confident,” she explained to ELLE.

“It was definitely a journey to adjust to doing all of the skillsets together, because it’s not just dancing and singing together, but you also have to think about… group chemistry and how to convey the story behind what we’re doing,” she told WWD in an August 2024 interview.

Lara, Manon и Yoonchae

So just being able to live that out proudly and loud and showing other people that it’s okay and you should be proud where you’re from, and representing it whenever you can—it really is like the impact that we wanted to bring to the world.”

And even though it wasn’t truly me, I tried to be their definition or assumption of who Yoonchae was,” she continued. “Eventually, I realized that it wasn’t the real me. And both my sisters and the Eyekons really loved how I act in real life too, so I think that’s how I learned how to act authentically, be myself, and be confident about everything.”
